Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal released the book Genericonomics, written to make the public aware about the generic medicines. The book was released in the inaugural session of the Media Mahotsav held at Indira Gandhi Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal. Congratulating health activist Ashutosh Kumar Singh for this book, Mr. Meghwal said that today the country needs Janaushdhi. Describing this book, author Ashutosh Kumar Singh said that through this book, he has tried to remove the confusion that people have about Janaushadhi i.e. generic medicines. He said that in a country like India where people are becoming poor due to expensive medicines, it is very important to get the option of public health. Sachin Kumar Singh, CEO of BPPI and Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh ji have sent best wishes for the publication and release of this book's.
It is worth noting that Ashutosh Kumar Singh has been trying to make the public aware about the generic medicines under Swasth Bharat Abhiyan for the last 8 years. For this, he has also traveled 50 thousand km to India twice. Ashutosh Kumar Singh, originally from Rajanpura in Siwan district, Bihar, has also recently published a book 'Anjuri Bhar Chaur' in Bhojpuri, which was released by Padmashri Malini Awasthi at the Delhi Book.
